Talented Youth
There will be a concert here at the Citadel on Friday 3rd September featuring young musicians from 'The Isidor Bajic Music School' Novi Sad.  They will be supported by young musicians from the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra.  7pm, no charge for admittance, retiring collection.

Heritage Days
The City's Heritage Days take place on 9th-12th September.  The Citadel will be open to visitors from 10am-3pm on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th.  If you would like to help greet our visitors and show them around the building please see Alison Gibson.

Norwich to London
On 18th September Ian Grimshaw will be cycling from Norwich to London (112 miles) to raise funds for the Band tour.  Whilst he is primarily targetting non-corps folk for sponsorship all contributions woud be really appreciated.  If you would like to sponsor Ian you can do so online at www.virginmoneygiving.com/IanGrimshaw.  Alternatively, speak to Ian who will have sponsorship forms available.

Visit of the ISB
The International Staff Band will be with us for the weekend of 25th-26th September.  We require billets for the weekend and if you are able to help out in this respect, please see either Joe Allen, Jason Beattie or Mike Whybrow.

You may remember an announcement by CSM  Hazel Sommerville regarding some knitted squares which needed to be sewn together for blankets.  Pauline Fisher has completed 11 blankets each containing 96 squares.  Thank you Pauline for your help.  These blankets will be sent to Romania.

Ladies Fellowship
Thanks to all who helped and supported the Ladies Fellowship Strawberry Tea on Monday.  We are delighted to announce that £115.79 will be added to our fundraising for this year's Helping Hand Appeal as a result of proceeds from tickets and our Bring and Buy table.  Anyone wishing for a copy of our new programme please see Jan Allen.  Ladies Fellowship is open to all ladies over the age of 16 years and you don't have to be a member of the Salvation Army to attend.  Our new programme has something of interest for everyone and is a good way to get to know folk and enjoy fellowship.

Happy Birthday to Dorrie Le Marie who celebrated her 101st Birthday yesterday.  Her friends from the Home League Singers visited her on Thursday and gave a short programme to the residents of Hethersett Hall.

‘My People - The Amazing Adventures of Marty & Max’
Colonel Hugh Boardman has written a book called ‘My People’ it is a book aimed at 7 to 12 year olds and anyone interested in learning more about Salvation Army History in a new and entertaining way.  There is an inspection copy in the foyer and also some leaflets with order form attached.  If you have children or grandchildren about this age, please take the opportunity to have a look.

First Sunday 6th September
Lieut-Colonel Roland Sewell has had to cancel his visit on this date because International Head Quarters have asked him to go to Zimbabwe for a month on the 1st September on urgent Salvation Army business.  As this will be the first full Sunday after the holidays, both meetings will now be led by our new corps officers, Majors Ian and Sally McBride.

Help Wanted

Prayers Required
We have been asked by a Catherines customer to pray for her daughter who went into hospital on Friday for an operation.  Her daughters name is Karen.  Her family have been through a very testing time, losing a granddaughter six weeks ago to cancer and would greatly value our prayers.

Congratulations
We send our love and congratulations to Philip and Margaret Neave on the safe arrival of Grandson Jacob.  Margaret and Philip thank everybody for their prayers for their daughter Sarah, Jacob arrived as scheduled on Monday and is safely home with Mum and Dad Shaun and sisters Evie and Bethany in Beccles.

Hand Made Greetings Cards
Designed and Produced by Shaun Harvey.
Shaun is a fine artist and has produced some hand made greetings cards featuring some of his own drawings of famous Norwich landmarks.  He will be selling packs of cards (5 for £2.50).  There are posters and leaflets available in the foyer for you to choose a design and place your order.  All funds raised are for the Norwich Citadel Bands Tour of Canada and the USA.
